Chris Henry Coffey to Replace Bill Heck in Final Week of Water By the Spoonful Off-Broadway

Stage and screen actor Chris Henry Coffey will replace original star Bill Heck in the final week of off-Broadway's Water by the Spoonful, beginning February 5. Heck, who plays Fountainhead in the show, will depart the Second Stage production on February 3 due to a prior commitment. Directed by Davis McCallum, the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama by Quiara Alegria Hudes is scheduled to play a limited engagement through February 10 at off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre.

In addition to Heck, Water by the Spoonful stars Liza Colon-Zayas, Frankie R. Faison, Zabryna Guevara, Sue Jean Kim, Armando Riesco and Ryan Shams. The second in a trilogy of plays about a young solder named Elliot, Water by the Spoonful follows Elliot home to Philadelphia to reconnect with his Puerto Rican family. When an online support group begins to overshadow his aspirations for the future, the real and online worlds collide as his Elliot and his family struggle to be understood.

Coffey appeared off-Broadway in Frank’s Home. His additional regional credits include How Shakespeare Won the West, Resurrection Blues, Lips Together, Teeth Apart and The Front Page. His film and TV credits include BFF, The International, The Good Wife and Cupid.
